An interesting find at Edinburgh Printmakers

I dropped in yesterday to revisit the 'Indelible Traces' members' exhibition based on work related to the Fountainbridge site which the Printmakers' is due to occupy in 2018. I went to the preview but at that time couldn't stay to watch the video installation which features work by Anne Forte. She gave an explanation at the Preview of how the work came about. The voice was her aunt's, she worked at the NBRC factory in past times and had fond recollections of how she and the other young women workers used to go to a local dance hall. Anne has made a video featuring glimpses of her screenprints and sound including her aunt's voice. It's a lovely piece of work, that for me successfully conjures up the atmosphere her aunt describes.
